For a perspective in Afrikaans, try Versindaba – Marcelle Olivier reports to South African poets on the fiasco at PoSoc.

In spite of the deadline at 2:00 today (5th July), the Board has responded only now – at 5:32. Here’s a link to the message. It makes no mention of change to the General Meeting, and ominously announces the resignation of yet another member of the Board.

Some background…

Read the thoughts of Katy Evans-Bush from fairly early on in the fray, and her recent reflections on the Red Wheelbarrow; and also those of Fiona Moore.

The Poetry Society’s Media Room has a startling series of press releases, delivered deadpan. It’s these that have raised many more questions than they have answered, provoking consternation among members. A super-injunction? Surely not.

There’s also been lots in the press –

5th July in the Guardian – Poetry Society lobbied by wheelbarrow

1st July in The Guardian – Poetry Society calls general meeting in wake of resignations

30th June in The Guardian – Poetry Society troubles continue

27th June in the Guardian – Bad to Verse?

27th June in the Telegraph – Poetry Society ’embroiled in row over funding’

and a blast from the past…

27th November 2008, also in The Guardian – New Poetry Society Director lays out plans to grab public’s attention
