AGM Proxies
Please post here if you need a proxy for the AGM or if you would like to offer to be a proxy for others. You can see links and dates, and download a proxy form from the AGM page or click here. (Please note that this is the updated form.)
The key issue for which proxies are likely to be needed is the appointment of new Trustees.
This page, like the EGM proxy page, is a sort of dating agency where Members can pick a Proxy who will represent their views at the meeting. It’s absolutely NOT a mechanism for harvesting votes or packing the ballots with a single view!
If you want to offer to be a proxy, please post a comment and either include contact details or assume that I shall pass on your e-mail address to anyone who says he or she wants to choose you as a proxy.
If you can’t attend the AGM yourself and would like a proxy, have a look at the names and comments of the people who offer themselves. Either respond directly to the e-mail given, or if there isn’t one, I’ll put the two of you in touch.
Please let your proxy know which prospective Trustees you would like to support. Details of each nominee will be distributed by Poetry Society staff by e-mail to all Members before the AGM. If there is another issue on which you think there may be a vote, you should either trust the judgment of your proxy or let him or her know how you would like your vote to be counted.
Please get in touch with me through the address on the About page if you have any concerns or questions.

Thanks for both offers. Martin’s arrived first, so I’ll accept that one, but thanks to both. I’ve entrered ‘Martin Alexander’ on the form.
I find I probably won’t be able to make the meeting. Are any proxy offers still open?
With thanks,
Richard Kerridge
Dear Richard,
I’d be happy to be your proxy. Please fill in the form and e-mail it to the Poetry Society before the end of today – they’ll do the rest.
All the best,
Martin
I’m happy to proxy, Richard.
I have appointed the Chair (whoever that may be) of the meeting as my proxy and have given specific instructions, using the proxy form, as to the candidates I wish to support. Hopefully this will assist in the speed of the count!
I am now on my way to France and will be out of the country when the election takes place and the results announced. May I wish all the candidates the best of luck and, as I have said before, may the best 12 win – the Society needs you!!
Robyn Marsack, Director of the Scottish Poetry Library, has offered to act as a proxy for any member in need of one.

I am happy to be a proxy for anyone who would like to go with my choices, or would like me to submit their own choices at the AGM.
I have mapped out the range of skills from the refreshingly large and in fact rather extraordinary list of candidates this year, and have come up with 12 candidates whom I feel represent the following knowledge or perspective: members, conscience, governance, finance, helpful perspective, legal, creative, youth, strategy, mediation/conflict resolution, education, poet, policy, insight, media, practical, international, IT, outside London/England, procedures. This may not be the mix that is always important at board level, but at this point in its very long life it feels like the right mix to support the Director and staff in a strategic way as the Society moves on to achieve great things.

I’m also willing to be a proxy for any members who can’t attend. I’m happy either to have people trust my own choices, or give me instructions on the twelve Trustees for whom they would like to vote. My e-mail is Martin@Alexander.Org
I’ll be attending the AGM and I’m happy to act as a proxy. My email address is: donutchops@yahoo.co.uk
I will be attending the AGM and happy to be a proxy for anyone who needs one. I am a member of the North London Stanza, do not personally know any of the trustees or requistion organisers but I supported the EGM wholeheartedly in the interests of transparency and openess. You can contact me at lthmarlborough@gmail.com
